Legends of the fall is boring

Terrible movie.

reply

It's a b1tch movie, plain and simple.

reply

To each his/her own. It's one of my favorites, probably in the top-10 even. Drawn in and entertained from start to finish =)

reply

Oh, come on. You may not like it, but boring it ain't. It may be the most hyperunboring movie ever made, for those who value such a thing.

reply

agree, totally. (and my cousin Julia is stunning, of course.)

reply

No it isn't. Chuck Norris movies are boring. Steven Seagal movies are. They have no plot or meaning. This one does have that. AND sex, bears, war, horses, fighting, family arguments, revenge killings...what MORE do you want???

She deserves her revenge, and we deserve to die.

reply

movies with revenge killings and sex/ affair type stuff is dumb. I dont want sex in my movies. if i wanted sex ill watch porn. dont understand what people like about these crazy people movies. you guys probably fantasize about cheating on your spouses. you shouldnt even want to see make believe people cheating or not getting the girl.

reply

What a show of values here! Better to watch porn than a great film that involves comprehension of human behavior, proper English and well-written, well-acted characters.

I don't know WHERE you got the idea that people who like films like that fantasize about cheating! In my experience, it's generally the sex-crazed types who objectify women and LOVE PORN who CHEAT!

Have fun blowing your money on a bunch of mindless, woman-degrading GARBAGE!

Nothing is what it seems. Everything is a test. Rule #1: Don't...get...caught.

reply

You're an idiot, plain and simple.
Nothing about Legends is boring.

reply

Legends is a beautiful movie from a beautiful story.

reply

No reason from the OP, just a comment "terrible movie" tells me you can not take the time to articulate as to why it was terrible. Short attention span perhaps?

reply

Just guessing here but maybe the OP is young. I probably wouldn't have appreciated it in my youth but as I mature my appreciation for and understanding of the issues addressed in this film have grown suitably. I remember being equally blown away by Ang Lee's cinemotography and direction in Brokeback Mountain. The backdrop for Legends and the score really add to the quality of the story. I probably wouldn't have appreciated Brokie in my youth either, much less the stunning backdrops. I would have wrongly found it drawn out and boring.

Again I may be wrong about the OP but I do find a lot of youngsters aren't interested unless it's some fast-paced totally far-fetched CGI masterpiece which in turn bore ME as a mature adult. For me personally, CGI is a huge cop-out and comic superheros belong in said comics in teenaged bedrooms. They have no entertainment value for me. If I want escapism I'll at least ensure it is sensible and feasible. Spiderman to me is just ridiculous lol.

The final scene is my favorite thing ever created.

reply

Your post is boring, at least give us an argument.

reply

Why cus it doesn't have explosions or mindless, gratuitous violence? This movie has a story, well developed characters and a hell of a lot of heart in my opinion. These qualities are sadly lacking in many of the movies Hollywood dumps on us today and then doesn't even bother to give us a courtesy flush to boot, now that's just plain rude in my book. I really think u gotta give a movie more focus and try to appreciate it when there is a genuine effort to tell a story instead of relying on CGI and fluff. I'm not saying u have to like this movie but I really think you should maybe watch it again and try to appreciate it for what it is, a great movie that reads like a Greek tragedy in many ways but ultimately leaves the viewer with an uplifting feeling. How despite experiencing numerous tragedies, heartbreak and devastating loss which then weaken and nearly destroy each character personally, a family bond can be stronger then all of that. This bond can save us when nothing else will and can sometimes help us to regain a place of stability in an otherwise rocky and treacherous word.
