I can think of at least 4 films that are more deserving of Best Picture than Forrest Gump (Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Ed Wood, Clerks) although for arguments sake I think we can all agree that Pulp Fiction should have won instead of this stupid movie.
shareI couldn't disagree more. This movie is great. It's a miracle they could make such a good movie out of such an over the top and silly book. Also, I don't think Pulp Fiction is as good. It's entertaining but the characters are all unlikable jerks. Shawshank Redemption though is a good contender. I still haven't seen Ed Wood but I should watch it soon. I haven't seen clerks but it's not a big priority for me.

However, you're gonna have years at the Oscars where several powerhouse movies are gonna compete with each other. This year you had three. I personally love all three. Gump won, and I don't harbor any resentment towards it. I love it just as much as the other two.
Shawshank and Pulp also would've made great winners but they lost. It is what it is
