How long would have Brandon Lee's career have lasted if he had lived?

In a way, he could've became the next big action star. Hard to say so early in his career, but it's The Crow is definitely a cult classic and that's gotta say something about any potential he may have had. He probably would've done the sequels. I could see him doing some action movies. They'd either be very memorable or some real stinkers. He'd probably dive into obscurity as a voice actor or something.

Yeah but Wesley was involved with that whole tax situation and he was forced to make straight to dvd releases overseas.

I don't think he would be a major star as someone pointed out (like Brad Pitt) but I do think he would find a niche in odd characters roles. He would have been like Brad Dourif just taking up strange roles. However I do think-and this is just me fantasizing-that his career would take a nose dive in the early 2000's only to have a big comeback in say 2010, heck he probably would have been the first choice to play the Joker in the Dark Knight.

I will not fear, fear is the mind killer

I think his career would of blossomed after this film.I doubt he would of done any sequels though. It is a damn shame the way he had to leave this earth and so early.

My mother would show up on time and know all her lines but who wants to pay to see my mother?

In an interview he said he wanted to do action films but also make independent films. Like how Mel Gibson makes action films and then makes stuff like Hamlet on the side. Brandon would have his fans no matter what so I wouldn't try and chastise how popular or unpopular he would've been! I doubt he would've went DTV if people like Jason Statham and Vin Diesel still get their movies into theaters! It's pretty guaranteed Brandon would've been Neo! Brandon would've had 20th Century Fox help him get his name out there even more than just saying he's Bruce Lee's son! So he'd be a very big deal whether you liked him or not! It'd all be up to Brandon what his career would look like though!

Hard to say. The films Lee made up until The Crow were entertaining, but were very much action genre films of their time.
I think unlike a lot of Lee's peers at the time in that genre, Lee had a physique, appearance and ability that could have translated into other types of films. I could see Lee as a lead in a romance genre film whereas I couldn't say the same of Steven Segal, Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolf Lundgren or those types of muscle-bound action stars.
Some say he was pegged to possibly play the Keanu Reeves role in the Matrix. Now, had that come to pass, that might have opened up other opportunities for him...or it might have pigeonholed him or stereotyped him as 'the Matrix guy' forever (because Lee didn't have the same amount of different roles in diverse genres that Reeves did by the time he was in The Matrix). Lee was still trying to establish himself in the industry when he died. Others have said Lee had already signed on the make Rapid Fire 2 before he died. The movie industry likes actors to do what they do best. I can't honestly say Lee would have been given opportunities to do many high-budget things outside of the action genre had he lived, and making sequels to films like Rapid Fire wasn't really a way to demonstrate diversity.
His career would have lasted as long as he was bankable. I don't know if Lee would have ever been a huge star. It seems like his career was on the way to becoming bigger...I mean, he might have made The Matrix movies and then his career could have stalled. Who knows?

the crow was the first step to doing more emotional films and showing off his actual talents as an actor. he was a rare bread the kind of actor that could do the action stuff and be able to act too. he could of been one of the best actor around if he had the chance to get into more mainstream films.

He wouldn't have done the sequels because he was reunited with Shelly at the end of "The Crow" & his journey was done. The sequels were like the comics - about other crows. They weren't nearly as good but too many people compared them to the original. I think Brandon's career would've done very well had he not died filming "The Crow." He was VERY talented, extremely handsome, great to work with & his star was definitely on the rise. I knew he was something special when I first saw him in "Showdown in Little Tokyo." He was really good in "Rapid Fire" & it's a shame that this movie had to be his swansong. He was phenomenal & had so many more great performances in him.

Um, He was contracted to do at least the 2nd film, so He would have done the sequels. Its even stated in the making of book for city of angels.

He would have faded and had bit parts in CSI or 24 which most actors seem to do now. Though i could see him in one of the Expendable movies.
