remeber when mary is dreaming and in the dream little mary is walking thru the plants and her mother is calling her and the then mother does some sort of turn and her hat falls off and shes like sucked into the woods and turning at the same time?
omg that scared the *beep* outta me. it was really scary

That scene, for whatever reason, also frightened me as a little girl. I had nightmares in relation to that dream for a long time afterwards. And I always got so choked up when the baby was crying out for her mother. SO SAD. I just want to cuddle that poor baby!
It still is a scene I don't enjoy watching to this day haha

I first saw this film in the theater in 1993 at the tender & impressionable age of 23, and this scene made me cry too. :-) Still does.

Me too!! And then when little Mary cried it always broke my heart!!
