This excellent movie is sexy and suspenseful. Madonna here is much better than Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct. The theme of S & M has many levels here, not just that of sex. The courtroom drama is intriguing. Perhaps those who dislike that part would also be turned off by trials such as those of O.J. Simpson and Scott Peterson.
shareI agree with pery-1 that this is a very good movie. I loved the suspense and the acting. I thought Madonna did very well. She was a lot better than some of her other movies except Seeking Susan. I thought her worse was Who's That Girl and that crappy one she made with Sean Penn where they were suppose to be in China or something. That was a pure stinker!
I didn't know if Madonna was the killer or not in Body of Evidence. The courtroom scenes were great. The way the story played out in court kept me on the edge of my seat because I never knew what would happen. This movie has been playing on IFC for about a month and I've seen it twice!
I don't see how it can be compared to Basic Instinct. I have never compared it to Basic Instinct because it's an entirely different thing and style.

DaFoe played a straight male trope. It’s clear when Moore was trotted out that he would have an affair with Madonna. There was not one character in this horrible script that has dimensions. The dialog is excruciatingly static.
