Who else would take this over Cheers?

i know cheers is a classic but I got burned out by that show in the later seasons

Frasier is definitely the better written show, many episodes are like mini plays.

I watched Cheers all the way through while it was on Nick at Nite reruns, and I absolutely loved Diane Chambers and "Sam & Diane," but the rest of the bar is not as funny/interesting to me.

Whereas I think Martin on Frasier is a scream, and the rest of the supporting cast really match up to/complement Kelsey Grammer.

Always. I would take Frasier over every show except 24.

Life sucks, Brendon. That's your lesson. Go enjoy it.

Much as I like FRASIER, I do not prefer it to CHEERS. CHEERS is as addictively cozy as...well, as your favorite bar.

Cheers is excellent - unlike another poster though, I'd take the Rebecca years over the Diane/Coach years anytime.

Frasier was definitely sharper and was of course more intimate than a large downtown bar.

That's actually one of Frasier's finest assets- intimacy. It's never noisy or distracting.

Everything is being carried by the characters-with no musical interludes or cues, or someone randomly breaking into song for no apparent reason.

Whenever music is played, it's contributed by the actors- Niles' and Frasier's piano playing often accentuates the mood of a scene.

I've seen a lot of Cheers episodes and I remember being entertained but I could never binge watch Cheers like I can with Frasier. That's an important factor.

Officer, I've had a doozy of a day...

I quite liked Cheers, but i think frasier is funnier. But both were better in the earlier seasons. I find this is the case with all sitcoms.

Cheers was very overrated and pretty awful. Frasier was such a good show.

reply

Cheers is more dopey comedy where Frasier is more of a thinking man's comedy.

reply

I like "Cheers", but if I could only have one I would choose "Frasier". I don't know if I could sit through hundreds of episodes with the troglodite Carla again.
