when gus shot the dog, and the kid finds him and that song started playing? I sware, if i was that poor kid, i'd have slit my stepdad's throat in his sleep, teach him to screw with me and mess up my life. The dog wouldn't have even gotten to him, he'd have been dead that night.

I agree. When I first seen the movie and it showed the poor dog laying on the ground with that sad look in his eyes my eyes were so sore from crying. How can anything be so cold hearted?!

I live in Ohio and I heard a story of some bastard who shot a pregnant mother dog for just trespassing on his lawn and messing with one of his chickens. I think that is what happened? He would of probably killed and eaten the chicken anyway. But the cruel bastard ended up shooting her dead anyway and she was almost due to give birth to the puppies from what I heard. Very sad story. I read about it in a newspaper where I live. The man who tried to find his dog who was actually killed and not missing ended up trying to sue the bastard for alot of money and have him thrown in jail. The case went to court but the poor man lost his case because the poor dog was on someone's private property.
I wonder if this man get's hate mail or death threats?

I guess it is legal to shoot dogs in Ohio if they trespass on someone's yard?
What makes me mad and very sad was the poor dog was pregnant and he did this and he probably knew about this dog.
