not as good as original

I actually think it's better. It's like the original but with a twist. This time, Kevin's in another state rather than his own house in a neighborhood he's already familiar with.

I actually find it has every bit as much charm as the first. And I like the change-up to New York City. I love both 1 and 2 equally.

I agree, definitely not as good. The only thing it really has over the original is the first hour moves a lot faster and is a bit more 'rewatchable' in that sense. But yeah, it lacks the charm and seems a little too dark compared to the first. Pigeon Lady is a horrible replacement for the Shovel Slayer. The hotel staff are even better than the pizza boy, though, to be fair!

I give Home Alone 1 a 10/10 and Home Alone 2 an 8/10

The first one is overall a better film, but I like the parts with the family and hotel in Home Alone 2. It also seems to have more of a “Christmasy” feel with heavy use decorations and Christmas trees compared to the first.

I've always liked both of them equally, to be honest. Home Alone 2 is one of the very few sequels I've ever seen that I thought is as good as the first one.
