great movie and all but why did the most expensive movie of all time at the time have the cheapest sounding musical score?? sounds like something you'd hear from a late-night b-movie from the time period. it isnt good electronic stuff like john carpenter. ever see mosquito or ticks? or any of the friday the 13th sequels? sounds like that. the main theme itself is fine, but the rest of the background score is terrible electronic stock.
shareI disagree. I liked the score. It's by Brad Fidel who also did music for the first movie and for some of Cameron's other films.

It's a great soundtrack. The main Terminator theme, in particular, is iconic. It's a very unique piece of music. The normal version is powerful, so much so that variations of it are a big chunk of my workout songs. Mostly because of that unique BU-BU-BU-BU-BUM beat. I saw a youtube analysis of it that said the rhythm is unusual which makes it so memorable. The version I like best is the one from T3 though.
Slowed down a bit and drop the bass beats and it sounds sorrowful, in keeping with the often downbeat tone of the movies.
There's a guy on youtube who does an acoustic guitar version of it, slowed down. It's brilliant. I thought it would sound great as the soundtrack to a western.
totally disagree, i am absolutely not an Arnold Schwarzenegger or Cameron fanboy so i am very neutral, but i thought the soundtrack and musics were awesome and great match with the scenes.
