I Purchased The Criterion Deluxe 4K Ultra Blu Ray
And now I'm watching it and the picture is crisp and clear and an overall Fantastic movie

shareHow does it compare to the DVD and blu ray?
Meaning . . . when the blu ray came out it was noted by some that the color texture took away from the film. So while a clearer picture, it sheened up the look of the film too much.
Of course this is all a subjective matter. But I wonder if one does a DVD/blu ray/4k comparrison which one comes out on top?
I too have the 4k of this film. I also have a 4k unit to play it with, but haven't upgraded my TV yet so my jury is out for the time being.
My SONY Blu Ray/DVD Player plays it very well and the picture looks about as perfect as it gets really.. Can't think of anything wrong with it
shareNo you didn’t, because it doesn’t exist.
Criterion have not released a 4K disc of SOTL, they released a blu-ray around 2018 which was decent, but it pales compared to the new Arrow 4K UHD which is the definitive version of the film.
Kino Lorber released a 4K a couple years ago but it’s terrible - the first 20 minutes are wrongly coloured so everyone looks jaundiced (rest of the film looks decent but still not as good as the Arrow)
