Steven Seagal is serious bad-ass. He barely even tries when he kicks people's asses and he is for real. In real life, he is like a 10th degree Aikido black belt and one of the only foreigners to have a dojo in Japan[the place where Aikido originated]. The Japanese are a very closed culture and usually do not allow foreigners to learn their fighting styles.

He is also said to have worked for the CIA at an extremely covert, 'Jason Bourne' type of job. It is of course highly classified.

I love his movie, aswell as most other seagal efforts (even a few of his DTV's)
Just gave it another spin tonight.

Without a doubt, Seagal's best film. It reminds me quite a bit of 2006's RUNNING SCARED with Paul Walker going crazy over one night to retrieve his stolen, dirty gun. It has the same ass kicking intensity. It's also the grittiest Seagal movie. I rank it up there with POINT BREAK for great early 90's action films. I remember when it was in development, it was called "THE PRICE OF OUR BLOOD" which was a much better title, but didn't fit into Seagal's three word marketing pattern. Agree with the poster about needing a better DVD of it - hopefully Warner's will release on Blu Ray.

'The one with nipples who could dial a phone'--that line gets me everytime. But sadly I hear even the Blu-ray isn't that impressive over picture quality.

love the opening scene when seagal throws the pimp through the car window then looks at the camera while the title comes up best start to a movie

It is without a shadow of a doubt the funniest film I have ever seen, so what if much of it is unintentional comedy - Its still the most enjoyable comedy to watch with its closest competition being Spinal Tap. Seagull (with his fruity lil beret) and Ritchie both ham it up so much its funny, then not funny, then really funny again. The dialogue is priceless and just endlessly quotable. My fav line of the moment "then everybody started buying disposable scissors and knives".

Are you intentionally posing as an illiterate, you know, as a subtle dig at the movie?
