What is the most depressing movie you have seen?
Naturally, I chose this one, but what do you think is on this list?
"Oh Look, a deli meat!"
I find it hard to believe that no one has mentioned On The Beach. I can think of nothing more depressing than surviving the global atomic war and then waiting for the radiation to slowly drift to your location and destroy the remains of mankind. Taking an upbeat song like Waltzing Matilda and playing it in a slow, mournful way certainly adds to the depression. To each their own, but this tops my list.
My second choice would be 1984 also not on anyone's list. I have not seen several of the movies listed.
