did this used to scare anyone when they were little?

When I first saw this I was afraid of the troll he was pretty freaky looking the only time I laughed was when he smiled at the girl, when he kept turning the kids to wood I was a little afraid, when the troll was finally killed I was relieved, ernest picked him up and kissed him then his head exploded.
Did this used to scare anyone else when they were little?

YES! VALIDATION, I WASN'T THE ONLY KID SCARED *beep* BY THIS MOVIE!

I saw this movie when I was five, in the theaters with my older brother. And like someone else mentioned I had to leave for "bathroom breaks" - I never saw the end of the movie. And like everyone else I couldn't sleep for weeks. It's funny how a movie can be so different for children and adults. But I have to be honest I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN THE ENDING. That's right, I have yet to rewatch this movie, despite being an adult, who also happens to work for a company that is known for making horror movies, irony? Yes.

But i'd be interested in finding out what it was exactly that scared us all, because there was obviously something terribly frightening there.

For me, the worst part of it all is that everyone laughs when you tell them the scariest movie you've ever seen is Ernest Scared Stupid, why oh why couldn't it have been something more universally accepted as scary. Arg. One of these days I need to sit down and overcome my fifteen year old nightmare, hahaha.

I remember climbing down from my tree house when I was about 7 years old and just frozen with fear about two steps from the ground. My eyes were clenched tight and I was convinced that troll was going to kill me the second my foot hit the ground. So I screamed as loud as I could for my mama and even the neighbor peaked his head over the fence to see if I was okay.

THATS how much this movie scared the crap out of me.

I know I'm fabulous... this is not news to me

That's very true.
