most underrated film of all time

I think this movie is one of the underrated films of all-time, if not the most.
it's wonderfully written and acted...great great flick...albert brooks is the man.

I agree, it is one of the most underrated films of all time - this undiscovered gem that has a real cult following but never achieved mass acceptance; I include Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park" and "Noises Off" in the same league.

This movie isn't presenting some vision of the afterlife as real, it's a satire. Totally loveable and one of my favorite movies

I couldn't agree more.I saw this movie almost 20 years ago and haven't seen it since.Nevertheless, for some reason, I've never forgotten it.
I keep hoping to see it pop up on tv, but it never does.
What's up with that? Anyone know?

I very much enjoyed seeing this the other day for the first time. I expected it to be charming and funny but I wasn't expecting it to be as thought-provoking as I found it. A lovely film with something quite profound to say, more people should see it.

Full circle.

When I saw this for the first time, I was 10 years old and sitting at my father's feet. I only saw it once, but I never forgot it. At 17, I became an Atheist. I remained this way until age 31.

My path away from non-belief began when I started meditating and seeking answers from within. Over the months, I came to understand my own purpose on this earth more and more, and I realized that all of the principles and beliefs that I'd been adopting in my life, nearly ALL fit within the premise of this movie.

I hope to find this film again to show to my fellow believers. If you want to find a church that focuses on the kinds of things covered in this brilliant film, please seek out your local Progressive Spiritualist Church, or just look into spiritualism. If these things seem to "out there" for you, I do still wholeheartedly suggest that ALL mankind learn and practice meditation.

As Carl Jung once said, "He who looks outside, dreams. He who looks inside, awakens."

MUCH LOVE!
