This or Menace II Society?
Personally I think Menace is twice the movie this is
shareEasily Boyz IMO
shareMenace II Society is a bit quicker paced where as Boyz n the Hood is a bit slower paced. but... my interest levels in both hold pretty steady as i call them pretty much tied but i think if i was forced to pick i would probably go with Menace II Society.
i guess those who like a bit more fun/action will probably like Menace more where as Boyz is a bit more emotional but slower. like Menace focuses more on the lifestyle which make it a bit more fun to watch where as Boyz is more about a person trying to survive and make the right choices to avoid that type of lifestyle around him. you can't really go wrong with either film at the end of the day. but i will say those turned off from language will probably prefer Boyz as while it's got language to it seems there is more overall swearing in Menace from what i noticed.

I love both equally, I also put New Jack City in the mix. When I think of 1 of those 3 I want to watch the other 2. For some reason I associate all 3 together.
shareI like Boyz N The Hood.
shareComing up I was always partial to Menace II Society. I felt it was more entertaining and just a better movie. I was a kid then. I just watched both films at 29 and I have a different perspective. Boyz n the Hood affected me on a personal level more. The message was more powerful. Both movies are classic however. But don't make me choose lol.
shareI was always in the Boyz n The Hood crowd. I enjoyed South Central too though.

Gotta go with Menace. It did it for me more than Boyz.
shareI'd definitely pick Boyz in the Hood. The characters are well written and expertly acted.
Send lawyers, guns and money/The *beep* has hit the fan
Menace II Society... Boyz was always slightly too preachy for me, still good but could have done without a couple ceremonies.
Fresh is better than both though.
