Still a huge disappointment after a re-watch

As a fan of the tv show this movie disappointed me in the 90s and I'm still disappointed by it after a re-watch. The plot contrivance of making Uncle Fester an imposter ruined this movie from the start. Uncle Fester shouldn't be shown as afraid of the Addams,' he should be scaring outsiders from the start of the movie as a member of the family. Apparently this movie didn't have the rights to the tv show and legally had to make it different. That may be a reason for these dumb creative decisions. Such a waste of a great cast not including Angelica Huston who was miscast as Morticia.

All correct.
And all the charm of the show is also not here, replaced by some lame attempts at high budget "comedy".
It really missed the mark, but expensive marketing + stupid audience = big success. So Hollywood is happy even if we are not.

2 of you haven't got a clue ---- I imagine you are like many , and only come to these boards to stir up shit, You no doubt have never said anything positive about any movie or show AND haven't a great knowledge of anything beyond your self

I just rewatched it and thought it was all right.

The script wasn't that strong, but the cast was great, especially Ricci.
