It’s interesting that Stu is 35 years old, and Tommy is his first kid, when in the 1990s, it seemed like people had kids at younger ages back then. Was it to emphasize Stu being immature for his age?

But it seems like the all the parents on the show were around that age.

Wonder why though none of the parents are in their 20s as was the more common age for new parents in the 1990s

I will assume that the creators were around that age when they came up with the show.
So it made it more relatable to them.
