Keaton Is A Great Villain

Michael Keaton is one of my favorite actors. He is very unique and very funny. In this, he plays a psychopath. He is awesome. This is one of his best performances even though the movie itself was mediocre. Check this out when you get a chance.

Absolutely. I just referenced this movie in a One Hour Photo thread, having been along the same 'creepy bad guy' vein, and wanted to recommend this to anyone interested in seeing the prick-Keaton in action.

I just love the intensity on his face when he chases Melanie Griffith's car afetr she's *ucked him over. Keaton should be a much bigger star than he is now.

Shawn is cool, remember that :->

He's more or less the ultimate slimeball in this movie. He's so menacing it's actually frightening. After this movie it took a lot of time for me to see his face and not think, "Well, you may pretend to be a nice guy, but I saw you in Pacific Heights and I know you're really a psychopath!" One of the best screen villains I have ever seen.

I have to agree, Carter Hayes/Michael Keaton is just the worst. He is so calculating too.

Keaton pretty much carried this average film.

I agree. An extraordinary actor.

He is a terrific villan, even when he's a comic bad guy, like Beetlejuice. However, he said one time the role he wishes people would remember him in is "Clean and Sober." It let him show a lot more subtlty than his usual parts.

Agreed, he made the movie. That and Beetlejuice made me love him.

Yeah, the Carter Hayes/James Danforth character is a memorable villain. He is master of fraud, and knows how to take advantage of California's ridiculous civil codes regarding tenants rights. As a villain, his type is all too real to a property renter in that State.

Keaton was great in these villain roles.
