The Jussie Smollett Hoax

Has anyone read the brilliant Tom Wolfe novel, or its, admittedly less brilliant, film adaptation?

For all of you despairing about the various hoaxes and false media narratives we've seen lately, with respect to the Jussie Smollett and the Covington Boys School cases, I'd really recommend it. Although some liberals may not want to admit it, the novel feels particularly prescient right now, and I'd argue that it would be intellectually dishonest to deny that.

The Great White Defendantâ„¢ turned out to be a couple of Nigerian immigrant gym-bros. Perfect.

Wolfe actually understood social class in America. Normally people isolate wealth, sex, religion or race & frame conflict as a matter of oppressor vs oppressed. I've never had a problem with the idea of "privilege". What pisses me off is the unstated assumption that it usually cuts in favor of certain groups like it's still 1950. I doubt Smollett's even all that rich. Most of his social clout is a result of having appeared on tee-vee.

That book was hilarious. Sad to see most people think the movie was a dud.

The Tawana Brawley hoax, the Jussie Smollett ripoff, it all is a joke. Blacks and their activists have been pulling this shit for decades.
