Favorite Era of Law & Order?

*The Early Years (1990-1993) - This is where it all started. It was a boys club. George Dzunda, Michael Moriaty, Chris Noth, Richard Brooks, Dann Florek, and Steven Hill. Dzunda was replaced by Paul Sorvino in Season 2. Jerry Orbach replaced Sorvino in S3.

*The Breakout Years (1994-1999) - This is prime L&O. 1994 changed everything. Orbach and Hill stayed. Jill Hennessy and S. Epatha Mekerson were added to the cast. Sam Waterston came in as ADA Jack McCoy. Benjamin Bratt, Carey Lowell, and Angie Harmon joined in on the fun too.

*The New Century Years (1999-2004) - Orbach, Mekerson, and Waterston stayed. Jesse L. Martin joined. Diane Weist, Elisabeth Rohm, and Fred Dalton Thompson joined in on the fun.

*The Post Orbach Years (2005-2007) - L&O took a massive hit when Orbach left. Denis Farina came in as a replacement. Martin, Waterston, Mekerson, and Thompson were still stable. Rohm left during this time and was replaced by Annie Parisse. There was a season with a female detective, too.

*The Last Years (2007-2010) - After the rough post Orbach years, L&O found its footing in the last years. Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson, Linus Roache, and Alana de la Garza worked well with Mekerson and Waterston.

best shows where with Lennie was detective he portrayal was so real and his interaction with partners was what you expected it would be like

The best years were the ones with Lennie Briscoe and his partners Mike Logan and Rey Curtis.

The Breakout and New Century Years for me. Jerry Orbach was my favorite. I think you should just have a section for him!

The Briscoe years — when he was paired with Logan, Curtis, and Green

One thing about Green always bugged me: in just about every episode, his cell phone would go off and he'd whip it out before the first ring was done, as if he knew it was going to happen and was waiting for it. It would have been better if he had let it ring once or twice before taking it out, to give the illusion he wasn't expecting it any second and had practiced the quick draw.

1990-2004 for me. I loved Law & Order from the beginning, but I have tried multiple times to watch the "post-Orbach" episodes and just cannot do it.
