i wasn't around really to enjoy these movies when they first came out because i was far too young but now that i have netflix i keep going through every 80's comedy i can find because i think they're so hilarious (so much different than todays comedies)
does anyone recommend any other 80's / early 90's comedies that have a similar tone? i mean the outrageous lead actors and just silly, non-realistic humor type?

I would recomend you any John Hughes movies (and you may want to follow some of the actors who show up in his films)
You can also try "teen wolf" with michael J. Fox and "Back to School" with Rodney Danger Field and "Can't Buy Me Love" or "18 again!".
have you seen "Tradding places"? it's also one of the funniest 80's movies I can remember
also you might like the obscure "You Can't Hurry Love" (1988) I haven't seen it in ages, but I remember finding it funny back then...
