The one thing that ruins this from being the best HORROR film I've ever

....seen. That retarded song at the end of the movie. They needed score not some pumped up jerk off Ramones song after seeing something so horrible. I love this movie. Its what horror isnt these days and thats unpleasant. Full of dread. But that song kills it.

These days I can understand when people say they don't like that song, but when I first watched the movie it just went so perfect with it...I can't describe it. I can't imagine it not being in the movie.

That song rules. It fits the end of the movie. I guess it was still a pretty serious movie for you even when Louis is frenching his dead wife while her eye oozes all over the place

Isn't Stephen King a big Ramones fan?

Always figured that was why it was in there.

When I used to watch the film when I was younger, I never really caught onto the song being played during the truck accident scene. It wasn't later until I got The Ramones' Rocket to Russia that I realized what song and group it was.

In the book, around halfway through, Louis has a Ramones song stuck in is head. Especially when dealing with the pet sematary, often "Hey-ho! Let's go!" Runs through his head.

That song might have been better.

Right on, hanahelisabeth2014. Louis had that going through his head, on many occasions. When I write the remake, it'll be there somewhere...probably a cover, though. :)

I agree completely that modern horror tries too hard to be scary and loses the sense of dread that actual horror has, I think this film tries too hard to be comedic and that's what kills it. The movie lacks the atmosphere of the book. With the backstories being changed, the motivations don't really work.

It's a bit unfair to judge it based on could've-beens because of the book, but I can't help it.

I normally HATE when horror movies have a rock song in their credits. But this was a perfect song. Like another poster said, I cannot imagine the film without it!
It manages not to be sappy or cheesy, it has a chilling sound to it & echoes the sentiments of the film wonderfully.

I respect your opinion. Thanks.

I totally agree.
