My one complaint is...Cousin Eddy got too much screen time

Less is more. They even did two jokes where he says 'shitters full' and two jokes of him wanting damaged items left out in the trash.

Also they should have fixed the mistake where he says that he didn't borrow the RV, they live in it. He had already told Clark that he had traded his house for the RV so it was a weird redunancy.

I disagree, not sure if it was the writing or Quaid's delivery, but Cousin Eddie delivered one gem after another. This has been on regular TV a lot, and they edit out the "shitter's full" comment.

I don't think Quaid could carry a whole movie as that character, but I thought he was great in this.

Regarding the RV, I'm not positive, but I thought his first story was he had borrowed the RV, like for the trip to visit Clark and Ellen maybe. The RV's owners moved into Eddie's house. Later Eddie admits he actually owns it.

NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION 2:COUSIN EDDIE'S ISLAND ADVENTURE.

IT EXISTS...COUSIN EDDIE IS THE STAR...IT IS RIDICULOUSLY BAD.

reply

Bad writing, like in a money grab sort of way?

reply

IT'S BAD IN EVERY WAY...I CAN'T IMAGINE THEY GRABBED MUCH MONEY...BUT THAT DOES SEEM TO HAVE BEEN THE INTENT WITH THE WAY THEY STRUCTURED THE TITLE.

reply

Thanks, I'll avoid the temptation to watch it if it ever comes to TV.

DISAGREE...THE MIX IS PERFECT IN CHRISTMAS VACATION...TRULY AN ENSEMBLE WITH CHASE AS A DEFACTO LEAD...EVERYTHING AFTER CHRISTMAS VACATION SCREWED UP THE MIX.

Cousin Eddy is the gift that keeps on giving!

reply

AS FAR AS THE RV...EDDIE SAYS HE BORROWED IT OFF A BUDDY OF HIS THE FIRST TIME...IMPLYING THAT HIS FAMILY IS USING THE RV AND HIS BUDDY IS STAYING IN HIS HOUSE.

reply

He says "Oh, that uh, that there's an RV. Yeah, yeah, I borrowed it off a buddy of mine. He took my house, I took the RV. It's a good looking vehicle, ain't it?"

I always interpreted him saying "he took my house" as they traded, negating his first statement that he 'borrowed' it.

reply

HE CLEARLY SAYS BORROWED...LEADING CLARK TO BELIEVE THE SECOND PART TO BE A SHORT TERM SWAP.

reply

I personally thought Cousin Eddie was the best character throughout the film, every scene he appeared in was hilarious!

Disagree.
