Malaysian Airlines Flight 370
For some reason this incident reminds me of this movie. In no way am I trying to make light of the family of the victims of this crash, only pointing out the eerie similarities.

shareI was thinking the same thing, came here based on that thought.
shareMe too. I thought of this movie immediately when I heard about the disappearance of the plane.
Welcome to the 21st Century.
"Even in the future nothing works." - Spaceballs
They blasted into the future! Or the past..
"Why can't you share your bed?"-Michael Jackson
Or an alternate reality!
I don't think this is going to have a happy ending, really.
If the plane was hijacked, I think the hijackers found that landing is not so easy.
I was born in the house my father built
But the plane exploded in Millennium and the wreckage was found....(although from what i remember the plane went into the future for a short time and the passengers replaced with dead bodies)
what has happened to Flight MH370 is more like the Twilight Zone The Odyssey of Flight 33 where the plane went into the past..(or maybe Lost)
i hope they are found alive
I posted the same thing. I do not want to make light of the situation, but I could not help but think of this flick.
On the other hand, there is a possibility that the plane was hijacked and they are still alive. I doubt it, but the most recent news indicates that the transponder was turned off deliberately and the plane flew for hours afterwards.
Somethin extraordinary happened for sure.

I was racking my brain trying to think of what movie Flight 370 reminded me of... then someone finally filled in the blanks yesterday. Glad to see I wasn't alone.

Made me think of this movie too! You are all not alone.
shareyep me too
shareReminded me of this movie and also the Twilight Zone episode mentioned here already. But mostly the beginning of "Lost Horizon" (1937).
shareLOL... just chiming in. I thought of this movie almost immediately when this story broke on the news.
It's a tragic accident, but I have to say it's kinda funny to see all of us here thinking the same thing. The power of movies, eh?

Mrs. French's cat is missing...
It's almost as though some movies predict our future. Going off topic for a minute, a good example is the movie The Day After Tomorrow. All those polar vortexes that have been wrecking havoc this past winter was in a small part like what happened in that movie. A much smaller and slower scale mind you but still similar enough to make one think.
I don't really believe Hollywood can predict out future or anything like that, it's just kind of eerie if you think about it long enough, which unfortunately I tend to do from time to time.
Back to the original subject, I think it's cool so many of us have had the same thought. It's also more pleasant to think these people were transported to another time and place then to have died for nothing.
I'm late, but in between being reminded of this movie and the Pontypool quote, I <3 you. :)
shareToo funny. I was thinking about this movie as well. It will be interesting when they recover the flight data recorders to see what really happened. Maybe we will hear "send the gate" on the audio recordings. :)
shareEerie, yes, and a similar flashback to this movie. A hint of Lost Horizon too. I'd love nothing more for the passengers to be discovered living, perhaps even a generation from now, on an unmapped lush island ... somewhere out there.

Except MH370 completely disappeared (though one day may still be found) and the plane in this movie didn't, nor seemingly to the contemporary observer did the passengers.
