How many people that love this movie are Indians fans.

I am I lived around Cleveland all my life, and I love this movie. Every Indians game I go to there is at least three or four Vaughn jersey's. Are there fans of this movie that aren't Tribe fans.

reply

Me too! I'm from just south of Cleveland but I'm in Texas right now for grad school. Hope to move back up to Ohio when I'm done with school.

Im about 10 miles from Cleveland. I love this movie, and am a die-hard Indians fan in real life.

Yeah, this movie is one of my favorite comedies, but i am nowhere near being an Indians fan, no offense. I do, however, feel bad stealing CC away from you guys. He's helping us out a lot.

ive lived in cleveland my whole life.

id say this movie is prob cooler for tribe fans than everyone else just cause we know how it feels to be such a loser team

reply

The Cubs are a bigger loser team.

I like baseball, baseball played in classic outdoor stadiums, funny movies, and well-written funny movies. "Major League" is 4 for 4 in that regard.

I'm also a Wisconsin boy who spent a couple of weekends every year occupying a seat, usually in the first-base lower box seats, at County Stadium. I *LOVED* that park. It's like finding a forgotten picture of my best girlfriend to watch this movie and see the old County Stadium again.

And Bob Uecker — the voice of the Brewers — as Harry Doyle?? It's an old cliché, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Uke would have done this for next-to-nothing if they had asked him.

Love this movie, but lifelong Twins fan... and I hate Back to the Minors...

I've loved this movie for twenty years, i'm a lifelong Yankees fan but I love the Indians in this! I've got the Ricky Vaughn bobblehead on my desk. After seeing this in the theatre back in 1989 i bought an Indians cap & wrote 'Vaughn 99' under the bill and wore it for a few years until i outgrew it. Just bought another Chief Wahoo cap today, it's funny but this movie gives fans of other teams a fondness for the Tribe that otherwise wouldn't exist.

I have never really been an Indian's fan at all. I did at one time like them when they had Albert Belle, but other than that the Indians seem to be one of those small market only the home team likes them teams. There is nothing wrong with that, but I don't think you can garner fans outside your market if you don't win.

Wow...4 teams fan?

I have been an Indians fan since around 94 when I was 12. Used to be a Pirates fan but Barry Bonds that time was my favorite in early 90's (Right BEFORE the steriods). Anyways, I went to the Jacob's Field twice in July 18th, 1995 where Albert grand slam to end the game against California Angels...never forget that game and then 5 years later, July 19th, 2000, went to see it against KC Royals. Lost it against the Royals, thats when I got the Indians authetic jersey with no name or numbers.

Im telling you right now..since Manny Ramirez left from the Indians, that team went into a downhill since because the Indian GM and the management is a piss poor!

Rick Vaughn jersey? Never knew that...will grab it one day. Loved this movie when it came out and watch it all the time along with the Sandlot, Field of the Dreams, Little Big League and Rookie of the Year *yeah it is cheesy but I love that home alone villian in that movie..so funny.

I'm an Indians fan because of this movie.

World Series Champion Giants fan here. This years Giants club reminded me of the Indians movie ball club in some ways.

I kind of root for the tribe a little because of the movie I guess but don't really care what they do.

oh and herbie..

"Used to be a Pirates fan but Barry Bonds that time was my favorite in early 90's (Right BEFORE the steriods)."

For many years Bonds was the same player in SF as he was in Pitt. He didn't start bulking up until the late 90's, right before the new ballpark was built in SF and right after Sosa/McGwire got all the homer hype. He used HGH and became a extremely better hitter than everyone else, even those that used PEDs, which was a huge majority of the league. If he did't get walked all the time he would of had 70+HRs every year.

I was 12 or 13 when this movie came out. Im a Jays fan first and foremost, but because of this movie I have always found myself cheering for the tribe. Hopefully the hard times come to an end soon.
