His own subjects eat each other for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, but he gets upset over a few humans. Jeez!
shareI think he was afraid of his kingdom being discovered. But he really had nothing to fear because humans can't survive that deep in the ocean.

But that is only revealed in one of the sequels, so I guess that you don't have to take it as canon.
Wow! That seems like an important part of his story they should have had in the movie! I never bothered seeing any of the sequels though.
shareWell, it is kind of obvious that somebody came up with that detail after this movie was completed.
So it comes down to whether you take the sequels seriously or not...
