I love this entire series. The heart, the cheese, cartoony villains - Terry Silver was simply an awesome addition - the melodrama... Look at this shit:

Miyagi's speech, Mike's speech - and genuine anger - the music, Daniel having that lightbulb moment - this whole scene just works really well. It's not an all time great or even a "film", but this is entertaining as shit.

There's so much heart (and cheese) in that scene. The guy who played Barnes was great. Such an angry MFer. Totally believable, as is Daniel's fear of him; especially at that moment.
Miyagi's emotion is great too. He rarely loses his cool, but it was so appropriate. Daniel needed that proverbial slap in the face to snap him out of it.
Silver laughing - and then realizing Mike is wasting time - Snake yelling, "He's hallucinating", LOL - I love it!
Plus, this movie provides so much context for Daniel's actions in the current TV series. People who dismiss this movie are not getting the whole picture.
shareYou are right. I just rewatched it after seeing Cobra Kai and there are a lot of references to this movie.
I also like how it is Danny’s temptation to the Dark Side and how he breaks out of it. It was great character development.
Oh yes. I have said for years that it is my favorite of the trilogy. Until recently the answer I would almost always get is, "There's a third one?" or "Is that the one with the girl?"
