Elsa’s torch not igniting the petroleum?

Am I missing something, isn’t that her torch floating within the casket when they dive under it?
Wouldn’t it ignite the petroleum?
Not looking to scrutinize the film just felt it was odd that a match sets the petroleum ablaze but her torch isn’t a factor.

I thought the same thing. It would have definitely sparked a blaze as burning fragments fell.

Cool beans, I thought so too. Just a minor detail I picked up on, on my hundredth viewing, lol.

It's worse that. Unless it was refined fuel like gasoline, the (presumably) natural deposit of crude petroleum floating on the water wouldn't ignite with a match either.
