Anyone else extremely sad that Rachel got killed off in the beginning of this film? It messed the whole pacing up and to me she was definitely the hottest girl in the whole Halloween series.

Anytime I watch this, I skip the scene where she's killed. Tina, her replacement as Jamie's 'protector' was an annoying substitute.

Like it’s been said, the likely reason she was killed off was simply to show the viewers that absolutely no one was safe from Michael. But that said, I believe even the filmmakers have admitted that they regret this decision. Now one could argue that keeping Rachel around (and instead do away with Tina) would have made for a repeat of Halloween 4, but... so what! Right? :D I still think they could have found a way to keep her around while making her take a step back this time around, so to speak. Oh well, Tina never aggravated me as much as she does others and I still like the movie for what it is.
