LUCAS RIPPED OFF THIS ENDING FOR PHANTOM MENANCE
Did anyone else notice the extreme similarity between the way the villan in tis flick, Tex Cobb, falls to his death cut in half the same way the villan dies in Star Wars Phantom Menance?

shareIt is true. The bad guy falls and comes apart in exactly the same way, nearly the exact same shot. Could be coincidence but they are is extremely similar
share "Ripped off" translates to "homage" or "subtle reference" in movie terms, bottom line, I bet his (Lucas') lawyers could beat up your lawyers.
"Allright you primitive screwheads, listen up. This is my BOOMSTICK!"
Well. In Wolverine: Origins Deathpool falls down in the reactor-stack approximately the same way too... The only difference is that Deathpool is decapitated instead of having his body split inn half.

Ah, maybe you're missing the point here, "Blind Fury" came BEFORE "Phantom Menance." "Wolverine: Origins" came AFTER. This is not a site for those who are time-challenged.
shareGood lord, talk about missing the point. The poster wasn't making a case that Lucas was copying Wolverine, he was making the point that this type of scene has occurred more than ONCE. Or he's saying that Wolverine copied it too. At any rate, he is NOT "time-challenged". This isn't a site for those that are "point challenged" either.

I vote for time-challenged. "Hey everyone, I can also name off a movie where someone falls to their death, as well! And I love to hear myself type! Uh duh."

Well, in Phantom Menace, the whole split-torso-falling-effect is much more realistic looking. In this movie, it looks kinda fake.
shareI'd say it's a homage or tribute by George Lucas or one of the editing staff. Would you not think that Lucas might saw this movie, thought it was great and feels like he should tribute this one scene into one of the most underrated lovable sword fighting movie he ever saw?
shareGeorge Lucas was too busy fellating jar jar binks to write or direct the phantom menace. The whole thing was created by a pack of semi-retarded star trek fanboys in order to destroy the franchise. Is there any other explanation? Some people would have you believe Lucas is a washed up cornball schmuck, but I know the truth.

When I saw Phantom Menace, I said in my head, "No "eFin" way,....Not Lucas"
And it's amazing how everyone ignored it and shined it on over the whole STAR WARS buzz. I mean c'mon, Everybody that was around the eighties and saw all three movies in the theatres must have SEEN Blind Fury too.
They remembered,....they remembered,......even the critics ignored it.
How sad that this movie was forgotten.
Lucas will deny he saw BLIND FURY
I know how he is.
what a d!ck
And the filmmakers of Blind Fury never saw any Zatoichi film... right?
Kids today.

Are you sure these guys even know or have seen any Zatoichi movie? They should just to get in the know.
