Mine is Jimmy, to be honest, I felt like he got the best episodes and was such a strong interesting character. Not to mention the part was so well acted by Josh Brolin.
I'm not a well adjusted person, I just play one on the net.
I've always loved Buck. I have Indian hertiage that's prabobly why. I don't have Kiowa blood as far as I know I have Cherokee blood in me. I've always liked to study Native American History, you don't see that many anymore.
When I first watched the show I just loved The Kid. I thought he was too adorable and I love the way they wrote for him and Lou. But now that I'm nearly finished with the dvds I gotta say that Bucks up there as a VERY close second...in fact he might just be my favorite. Buck/Kid, and then Jimmy
You've gotta love Ike he was sweet, and that smile what an adorable smile.
Buck was my all time favorite male character, I just think Gregg is so adorable, and that smile just the way he presented his character in general love Buck.
You know, it's funny how your tastes change as you get older (e.g. I used to love Davy Jones from the Monkees, now I like Mike Nesmith). Anyway, I was 13 when the Young Riders first came on and my favorite character was Jimmy, hands down. I used to love his scenes with Lou. But now, my favorite character is Buck. It's hard to believe that the show is 17 years old! Gregg Rainwater (Buck) is sooo good looking! It's a shame that he doesn't act anymore.
I know the last thing I saw him in was Walker, Texas Ranger. I wonder why he stopped acting he was really, really good. I know he also lent his voice to a couple of cartoons.
He did Van Damme's sidekick, T-Hawk, in Street Fighter. Horrible, yet hysterical movie. Some indipendant surfer flick called Ocean Tribe and some voice over work. The way I understand it is that he mostly does theatre now a days.
And so castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually. (Jimi Hendrix)
{I would love to see Ocean Tribe. Unfortunately, it is only available in Italy and Japan. }
"Ocean Tribe" is available on Amazon.Germany... its in German AND English and is in PAL format... BUT If you have "InterVideo WinDVD 7" on your computer ( Or if you computer is less than 3 years old) you can play Any region DVD on your Computer.
I got Ocean Tribe just the other day and love it.. its not really my type of movie.. but it has Gregg in it and he's not in much of anything so it was worth the $$.
I just rented Young Riders from Netflix just to revisit the boys, and ended up at the end of the first disc KNOWING I would HAVE to buy this set. I forgot how much I loved this show...
Years ago, I loved Ike because he was the underdog, and overlooked a lot of the time. Now I realize he's just d*** HOT!
Ike, Ike, Ike, Ike, Ike...although I'd like a few more episodes with Sam in them!
ladynarana your right they did overlook Ike, and in my opinion they overlooked Emma a bit with the exception of "The gunfighter" which they could have elaberated more on and "Unfinished buisness". Other then that she was sort of part of the background. I would have loved to learn more of her past then the bits they showed.
Ike's my favorite character too. And I agree, he was way underused. But at least he got a few episodes totally dedicated to him, and some of the best ones at that. Actually, The Presence of Mine Enemies might very well be my most favorite episode. It was heart-wrenching to watch the first couple of times, but as I got the whole show on VHS (and now the first season on DVD), I could just go watch another episode and ignore the fact that Ike died.
Also, I wish that they had kept Sam and Emma beyond season 1. Great characters, both of them!
So, did anyone notice that Cody is the only one without any kind of background story? I believe we get to learn about the past of all the characters (including Tompkins), except Cody. Then again, there are certain episodes that foreshadow his future (as with Jimmy and, to a lesser degree, Jesse).
I felt so sorry for Ike in "The Littlest Cowboy" when he was trying to save that lady in the burning building and was hit in the back of the head because the marshal thought he was a lunatic.
