Fave lines

OK, what was your favorite line on the show and what was your fave scene?

Line:
Jimmy: "Sorry... Apologizing's something I only do on Sundays. Today's Tuesday.

Scene:
When Jimmy pulls the gun on the dentist guy in 'Lady For A Night'.

And so castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually. (Jimi Hendrix)

reply

Fave Line-
Cody: "Thank the Lord for small favors." I say that all the time!

Scene:
1. Kid sees Lou on the cross in the last episode of Season 2 (can't remember the name)
2. When Kid proposes to Lou the final time. Teaspoon is priceless in that scene!

reply

Hmmmmmmm I'll have to think about my favourite line for a bit but I reckon my favourite scenes were:

The whole of the "Gunfighter" episode and pretty much all of "Bad Company" too. My fave funny moment would be anytime the guys were stood around trying to serious but were wearing those bedtime long-johns...excellent stuff!

I'm not a well adjusted person, I just play one on the net.

Too many favorite lines--- the one I still use and only my sister understands is

"The thing is I ate it"

Favorite scene was when Jimmy and Lou were escorting the murderer to jail and were camped out at night and they were talking about his future. She said something about him seeing himself every time he looked at the man they were escorting and then he kissed her... hmmmmm lou and Jimmy. I always wished shed get rid of kid....

reply

I always wished she'd get rid of Kid too. It sould have been him that got shot, not Ike.

And so castles made of sand, fall in the sea, eventually. (Jimi Hendrix)

reply

Amen. he was the only member of the group that i couldnt stand. And of course he had to have the only woman in the group. makes perfect sense to me...

reply

Hey now! I love Kid! :) He was so cute! And every southern girl loves a good ol' southern boy! I liked Jimmy too, but he and Lou just never really clicked to me.

Another Fav Line!

Lou: "That's your problem Kid, to much thinkin', not enough doin'."

reply

I liked Kid. But I wished he would get knocked off his moral high horse every so often.

I agree with you there that's one of the main reasons I didn't care for the character.

But it's been forever since I've seen the whole series so right now I'll have to comment on S1:

There are so many good quotes in that season.

Good Day to Die:

Lou: "...see what you can do with the ropes."
Jimmy pinching her/groping her.
Lou: The ropes, Jimmy, the ropes!"

"Sorry Lou when it comes to woman my hands have a mind of their own".

That one always cracks me up

From Bad Blood:

Sam and Emma are making goo-goo eyes at each other and Emma is piling Cody's plate with food and Cody and Buck are lookin at them like huh?

Cody: Marshall you should come round here more often.

Unfinished Buisness:

Oh and what about the scene where Sam is trying to fix Emmas bedroom window and they are all harrassing him about it and he looses his balance and the riders get a manure wagon and they forgot to take out the pitch fork...

That is one of my favorite sayings also that Lou tells Kid on the show where they are watching over Dunkin the prisoner and this is where Kid proposes at the end to Lou. I used to have this episode taped on VHS, but I can't find it. I would love to find this episode from some website or someone and watch it over and over. I love any episode really that has Kid and Lou romantic like together. Keep me posted if you find out when the seasons are getting releases soon. I haven't seen an email from Amazon.com about when it is available.

My favorite line is from Bad Blood when Jimmy tells Lou she's "the best lookin' boy I ever seen."

I'd give up all my tomorrow's for one single yesterday.

reply

Line: Lou to Teaspoon in Ghosts - "I was born this way."

Scene: Kid discovers Lou's a girl in the Pilot("What's the matter, Kid? Never seen a girl before? :) Close second - The proposal in The Sacrifice (always makes me cry)..."Always wanted to do something for someone I loved" - poor Justin Whalen.

reply

My favorites were Kid, Buck and Jimmy, in that order. I thought it was funny how Kid said "It ain't right" all the time.
It was over ten years I saw the last episode of The Young Riders, and I was only 13 at the time, so I don't really remember any favorite lines.

I'll get back to you when my Young Riders DVD has arrived.

reply

Not a fave line but a new fave scene since I received the Season 1 dvd:

The baseball scene - so funny! I'd forgotton all about it.

I'm not a well adjusted person, I just play one on the net.

reply

Kid was always my favorite too. Its funny how watching the dvds I actually remember the lines as they are about to say them. lol My fave that sticks out at the moment is when Cody, Lou, Kid, and I think Jimmy were standing around talking (before they all know she's a girl) and the wagon pulls up and the boys start talking about how pretty the lady is. Lou says to Kid: What do you think? Kid kind of pauses and then says 'Safer not too'. I just thought it was cute. But then I always liked their scenes.

In the episode "Speak No Evil" when they are trying to get Ike to Blue Creek to testify against Nickerson.

Cody agrees to stay behind to give the others a head start:

Jimmy: I ain't leavin' him here.

Cody: I love you, too, Hickok. But I'm better at distance than you, now get!

Jimmy: You get killed, you're gonna have to answer to me, Cody. You still owe me $2.

reply

That $2 bit went on to run through the rest of the series. :)

I know Lou mentions it once to Cody when they had the cholera scare and found out it was the meat. I don't remember the episode title, but 2nd season.

reply

I like the scene in Tompkins store where Cody is checking out the feather,

Cody: This eagle feather looks great don't it? It suits me too
Buck:Turkey Feather
Jimmy: Yeah, suits you just fine.

That bit cracked me up.

reply

OK--how about the Teaspoon/Jimmy sweat lodge scenes?
The one is the episode with the gunfighter Longley.
Jimmy: Why ya always gotta talk so crazy, Teaspoon? I'm talkin' about breathin'!. The air. And there ain't none in here.
Teaspoon: You need to concentrate. (waves a feather at him). I said concentrate, dammit!!
Jimmy: I am concentratin'!!!
Teaspoon: Relax!
Jimmy: I...I am relaxed! (passes out)
Teaspoon: There, that's better.

OR the episode with the book author (I forget the titles):
Teaspoon: You know what your problem is?
Jimmy: Yeah, it's hotter 'n hell outside and I'm sittin' in a damn sweat lodge.

This show has been and will always be my favorite, and is my own personal estimation of the greatest show ever. They need to snap to and get the other 2 seasons out.

In Season 1, the finale, Gathering Clouds Part II:

During the final scene when Hawk's Raiders attack Sweetwater and Cody is trying to save the cute little pooch that is tied to the wagon and all of a sudden Buck comes running towards him:

Cody: What are you doing here?!
Buck: Wishing I wasn't mostly.

I always snicker when I hear Buck say that.

reply

At the dance during "Blind Love"

When the girl walks up to Buck and asks if he'd ever scalped anyone.

Buck says, "Just one, him" and points to Ike.
