I'm always reading about how it's time to end the show once and for all, especially now with the 600th episode.
You know there's this anime called Sazae-san that's been airing in Japan since the 60s and has literally THOUSANDS of episodes? People over there don't get tired of that show. So why are people bothered that The Simpsons still has new episodes?
People don't re-watch Sazae-san and there aren't reruns of that show. So JPN people don't have the way of comparing that show with the "classic" episodes. And I guess there's no single classic Sazae-san episode either.
The rumor was it that the 30th season will be its end. People just want the show to end because the new episodes aren't as good as the old ones and a lot of people on the Internet just like to complain :p
The voice actor's line delivery is soooo bad now. It feels like a parody of how they used to deliver their lines.

shareI honestly have this little girl fantasy that the show will run forever. It started a year after I was born, so it's been around my whole life. I know it'll have to end someday, and when it does it'll be like losing a friend, or a family member. Which is stupid, I know, because it's a TV show, but it's always been there. I've never not had new episodes of the Simpsons to watch.

It's not too stupid, I'll feel the same way. Compared to other shows I've seen, this will be the only one I'll be sad to see end.

You don’t address the reason people want the show to end.
The new episodes are not as good, so the show’s legacy takes a hit. The new episodes ruin the backstory of certain characters too.
Consider that, at 30 seasons, the Simpsons has been bad longer than it was good. (Seasons 1-13 vs 14-30)
