Underrated Character

I've always liked Wendell and felt he was an Underrated Character. He's the albino kid that always either pukes or looks like he is going to. Has he ever even said anything? I always thought we should have got to know him better.

reply

Yes, he has spoken. Eddie and Lou might also be fun to see without Chief Wiggum around.

I think it would be cool if they did another episode like 22 Short Films and focused on the less know characters.

reply

Sideshow Mel has YET to have his own episode story. I'm still waiting on that. It's time he stop being such a pop-up character for a scene or two or have him DO something for once.

reply

He did get to narrate an episode. "All About Lisa" season 19.

reply

That's not good enough. That episode should have been "All About MEL" with him narrating. That would have been better.

reply

Honestly, I think that suddenly making side characters into major character is a sure sign that a show is running out of ideas.

reply

I don't think of it so much as "making them into major characters" as we just know a little bit more about them. Yes, the show has been heavy on this premise the last few years, but it's not like they're neglecting the main family entirely.

And in that vein, I'd like to see another episode about just aunt patty. Between her almost gay wedding and her three dates with principal Skinner, she hasn't had a lot of solo airtime.

reply

But they have been doing it since the beginning. Like "Two Cars in Every Garage.." and "the Otto Show". Why stop now?

reply

It's only for an episode so relax. What is he suppose to remain a side character forever? We can see him get a bit of the spotlight? You're so desperatee to claim anything new and refreshing being a sign the show is running out of ideas. The show is running out of ideas if stories become overly repetitive or boring.

reply

Did you see that episode where you found out that The Sea Captain had been looking for buried treasure his entire life, and then when he found it Quimby stole it off him. Ha Ha.

Poor Sea Captain.

reply

The super tall guy who drives the tiny compact car should have another episode. Maybe have him arguing with Gil about buying a larger car, but Gil makes it so he can only afford another tiny car LOL-

reply

I would be very surprised if the tall guy in the guy compact car hasn't had an action figure made in one of the approximately 675 waves of Simpsons action figures. One thing you can say about The Simpsons is, they never miss an opportunity for marketing, it is safe to say at this point that any Simpsons character that hasn't been into an action figure yet, will be eventually.

reply

I'm about 90% positive I've seen one in a set at like, a Suncoast Video. (yeesh. Waaayy back...)

I always liked Wendell, too. We all knew a kid like him once. Did he ever have a showcase episode or even a scene?

reply

Snake because he is actually a funny guy despite him being a criminal.
