Dr. Seaton is the equivalent of Dr. Crews from Friday The 13th Part 7

In both movies, the Dr. was supposed to be helping a girl that had a special power/gift. As it turned out in "Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood", Dr. Crews was just using the girl, Tina, for his own personal gain. It seemed to me, in "Poltergeist III", Seaton was trying to do the same thing with Carol Anne. "If you talk about things, they go away", give me a break. The two doctors and the movies had a few things in common: The doctors seemed like they had no clue what they were talking about, both girls they were supposedly helping had blonde hair, each of the girls brought the "evil man" back(Carol Anne kept talking about Reverned Kane and Tina used her telekenesis and brought back Jason Voorhees)and not to mention, both movies were released in 1988.

umm not really. Dr. Crews knew very well that Tina had powers and he was deceiving everyone, even Tina, to make a name for himself.

Dr. Seaton was an eternal skeptic. Hypnosis is a proven fact. Paranormal activity isn't so he took the most rational approach he could find. Therefor didn't believe in the poltergeists at all. He really believed it was all an illusion fabricated by Carol-Anne

They have some common characteristics but their motives and characters were VERY different.

I hated Dr. Seaton. He may possibly be the biggest jerk in the history of horror films.

Terry Kiser was great as Bad News Crews.
