Dr. Seaton's acting, particularly when he is telling the other doctors about how he was frightened and that they should talk in the hall.
Tangina coming up from the water with her permed hair perfectly dry and intact.
Donna coming up through Tangina's charred remains, and then they leave the remains just lying in the hall without any concern about cleaning up the mess.
Marcy's mother in the minivan yelling, "Scott! Shut the door!"
Donna and Scott laughing to the exploding beer/soda can.
Scott making out with Donna as he tears open her face.
I agree with the Dr Seaton thing, that character was just awful - and the things he said about Carol-Anne hypnotising people into seeing things made no sense whatsoever
Other cheesiness: - the horrible fashions and hairstyles on the teenagers, look at when Donna gets dropped off at school , approximately 85% of them were wearing bleached stonewashed denim jean jackets - The teenagers singing 'oh Donna' to Scott and Donna and them laughing like idiots and getting all bashful - Bruce and Pat ( or Trish or whatever) swapping personalities for a scene towards the end of the movie - people shouting "CAROL-ANNE!!" Every 5 minutes - that annoying synth/piano cue that plays every time time something is supposed to be creepy or mysterious - Trish's massive shoulder pads I do like this movie though, it's not perfect but it has a weird, creepy atmosphere - I don't think its as bad as everyone says
Watching it right now.....oh god the piano/synth music, it's like a terrible B movie, there's background random piano music in pretty much every scene lol
-Donna's hair -Scott's Mom screaming "SCOTT, SHUT THE DOOR!!!" while she's looking miserable behind the wheel of that mini-van. -Carol Anne's footie pajamas. Wasn't she 12? 12 is a bit too old to be wearing footie pajamas IMHO. I know the intention was to do a homage to the first movie (Carol Anne did wear footie pajamas on the first film), but she was 5 in that movie. It's strange that a "tween" girl would wear footie pajamas. -Marci, Scott's baby sis. -Donna and Scott laughing as the beer can exploded. -Donna taking it upon herself to grab the security microphone and screaming to her friends in the pool "come out with your hands up and your shorts down". -Aunt Pat (Trish?) and her strange obsession with shoulder pads. Even that bitch's robe had shoulder pads -Carol Anne and Bruce in the kitchen in the beginning of the movie. -Tangina talking *beep* about Kane wanting Carol Anne "...now, before she grows up". -"I HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND THE POWER!!" -Tangina's Hair -"Less is more!!" -The entire freezer scene -Aunt Pat (Trish?) screaming "Come on! We'll cut them off at the pass!" when the trio miss Scott's Mom's minivan in the front. Why couldn't Pat just drive the two girls to school that day? Why go through all that extra chasing? Was she that lazy? -The piano/synth *beep* Joe Renzetti isn't one of the best musical geniuses around, but he did bring us the memorable and rousing "Child's Play" soundtrack just a few months later. What the hell was he doing here? -Tangina clasping her amulet in the airplane whispering harshly "BREAK THE MIRROR!!". I know that scene would have been very tense, if the director or writers decided to expand upon the whole amulet situation and WHY it was important to begin with. In P2, Carol Anne could read minds WITHOUT the amulet being present, after all, they set her up to be clairvoyant, so what did the amulet have to do with anything? Wasn't Tangina clairvoyant as well? Where did this amulet come from and why does Kane want it so bad? Or rather, how did it lead to Kane's ultimate destruction and Tangina's power? What the hell? -Bruce and Aunt Pat (Trish?) switching personalities for a brief second towards the end of the film. Did the director just say: "*beep* it! We're going to get through this one way or another?" -The "Kane Mist" going back upstairs and through a door once Carol Anne went through the emergency exit to the 10th floor. -Scott not appearing in the final sequence. He was taken by Kane as well, right? So shouldn't he be returned? Or did he just materialize in his bedroom with his mom screaming "SCOTT! GO GRAB THE MILK!!" -Scott's hair -The *beep* lightning strikes and Kane laughing as though to threaten you with another *beep* sequel right before the end credits.

If those fashions are so horrible they why are teens now trying to copy the 80s teens? All I see now are 80s fads which includes acid washed jeans, ruffled dresses, and skirts, skinny jeans, crimped hair, sideways ponytails to name a few. They need to learn a thing or two about "individuality" and stop trying to be something they aren't. So you're making fun of them for actually acting like teenagers, and not stuck on their phones texting like the ones now? At least the ones back then weren't stuffy, and lazy like the ones now.

Wow, Debbie downer alert. I've really hit a nerve with that innocuous comment about bad 80s fashion huh? Now let me get this straight: 80s teenagers blindly following ugly trend = free thinking individuals 2010s teenagers blindly following same ugly trend = Trying to be something they aren't
Ok, I'm glad you cleared that up for us all - and yes I'm making fun of the SCRIPT for having that corny 'oh Donna' scene - you do realise Donna, Scott, and the rest of those horribly dressed people are fictional, right? They were all actors, there's no need to come rushing to their defence 27 years later, there's also no need to trash modern teenagers for not being more like stereotypical 80s horror movie characters (?? was that the point you were trying to make?? I honestly have no idea)

Scott's hair.
It came out in 1988, and when I saw this as a kid, all those "cheesy" parts you mentioned in the movie I thought were creepy to me and other people around in the 80s. I take it you're really young, and think all a movie needs to make it good are an overload of those cheap CGI effects like they have nowadays which are way cheesier.

Wait, You thought Scott's annoyed Mother yelling 'Scott! shut the door!' In the minivan was creepy? um... What? And you thought Dr Seatons wooden line delivery creepy too? and Scotts bouffant hair? Ohh yeah real scary.........Are you trolling this thread? Those things all belong in this cheesy moments thread cos they're all cheesy as hell
