CAROL-ANNE!!!

Jesus i got annoyed by the ten millionth time they said that. I know what her name is can't they just say 'she' or 'her' anymore. Seriously didn't read the script or notice when filming oh well it is also pretty halirous at some points though i'll give it that

reply

Haha, same. I was going to sit throught the film again and count how many times they say her name, but then i realised they already figured that out on here. It was quite annoying

Yes, even Siskel and Ebert complained about the "tactical error" in the script in their Poltergeist III review.

"CAROL ANNE! CAROL ANNE! PAT! BRUCE! PAT! CAROL ANNE!"

Roger Ebert claims that the preview audience yelled "Carol Anne" at the screen! Gene Siskel suggested that "Carol" or pronouns could've helped.

It did get pretty annoying after a while.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

reply

Lol yeah it can get annoying hearing her name mentioned so much. I crack up though when Kane says " We won't hurt you. We love you " to Carol-Anne.

reply

Lol. Carol Anne !! Carol Anne!!!! Carol Anne!!!!, they more you say it the farther she will wander off the her lil red jammies.

Jesus this movie sucked.

Similarly if you watch The Edge you will hear "Charles" 118 times or so.

Hey I forgot what was the little blonde haired girls name with the red pajamas on ? lol Just kidding here folks but that was a lot of times to say one persons name in a single movie but at least you will never forget her name again lol . I can only wonder how many times her name was said in the first two movies ? It would make an interesting trivia type game to play with friends if they didn't know how many times it was said ( or a non alcoholic drinking game or a popcorn game - every time the name is said in the movie eat a popcorn kernel ? lol ) . It's still a fun movie to watch with the lights out just the same and a great way to wrap up the Poltergeist Trilogy IMPO ( but so very sad Heather has passed on though ). Thanks emiller89 for your subject post .

It wasn't just Carol Anne that was repeated over and over.

I noticed that every odd sentence that came out of the actors mouths was repeated for dramatic effect.

"In the puddle. In the puddle! IN THE PUDDLE! <-- Example

It's something like this

Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne..!

We need you, we need you to guide us into the light

We need you

we need you to guide us into the light...

Carol Anne, Carol Anne!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne!

(mud faces, uncle even smiling in the most horrible outcome, Aunt suggesting to just LEAVE Carol Anne with a moster.. and run.

In the Garage, In the Garage ! In the Garage, In the Garage !
In the Garage, In the Garage !
In the Garage, In the Garage !
In the Garage, In the Garage !

Carol Anne, Carol Anne!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne!
Carol Anne, Carol Anne!

(Repeat equation until end of the movie)

Yeah, it was a complete and utter failure of a script.

good for a drinking game. how many wouldn't pass out before end credits?

reply

I don't know how many times that Lara Flynn Boyle screams it when she is in the bathtub, but a lot . . . That scene alone was enough for the entire movie.

reply

OP, I agree, same here.
