why did they replace INXS's 'New Sensation' with another song?

I can't understand why they have replaced INXS's "New Sensation" with another song, I loved hearing that song in this movie and thought it was lame of them replacing that song with another song that was nowhere near as good as "New Sensation"

My dvd and bluray copies dont have that song..was it on the vhs? At what part?? Thats a great song..

reply

it was on the VHS, it was playing when Rudy was dancing to music along with him saying "alright, Mercedes" right before the dad tells Rudy that Mom is making cookies and later right after Les picked up Mercedes.

BROWNIES! Mom was making brownies!

I only ever say this movie on VHS and now Blu-Ray so I also thought that New Sensation was replaced, but apparently the song trouble (which was on the Blu-Ray version) is the correct song and was replaced by New Sensation on the VHS version.

I guess it had to do wit the rights situation and they could not get the rights for the DVD release.

It's that man again!!

reply

It's a bizarre notion to me that moviemakers have to renegotiate the rights to music tracks each and every time they re-release their already-finished movie on a new form of media. Like, what?
