Did anyone here see Dangerous Liaisons in 1988? If so what was it like?

Saw it on VHS in 89, I remember Glenn Close being a big deal at the time, this movie closely following the mega hit movie Fatal Attraction. I also remember being taken by Uma Thurman's beauty (No surprise she became a big star), and impressed by the acting skills of John Malkovich.
