Did it seem like to anyone else that there was excessive nudity in this movie? I'm not a prude or anything, but there was no need for the amount they had of pelle. I'm all for artistic freedom, but it got to the point where it was not even important to the story, but just distracting. Overall though I thought this was a very good movie. Very honestly moving. Any thoughts?
I am a labeled a "sex offender" in my country (USA) but, I had the chance to watch movies such as Leolo, For A Lost Soldier, My Life As A Dog, and even a Canadian Sex Education Show that was very inappropriate (not for non-US) for the prudish religious nutcases called Americans, all while I served my 10 year prison term. I realize that I did wrong, and I do not encourage nor support pedophilia, but I think that if people were a little less hateful and unforgiving and would try to remember what it had been like as a child then maybe their would be less hype about sex offenders amazingly the statistics on sex abuse is alarming here in the States, the majority of sex offenders convicted between 1998 and 2006 were under the age of 14 years old, yet by law they are not to be "outed" to the community like the adults I believe all sex offenders should be responsible for their actions including myself. I saw nothing wrong with the film, but you are correct about it being too much for the USA's Prudes to deal with. Sorry if I offended any one in the USA but our Society is uncivlized when compared to everywhere else.
I recently read the book. The movie is only based on the first part of the book. I thought the movie followed the book closely. All the nudity in the movie was in the book.
I bet this movie is not about nudity. There maybe some nudity, but I bet that is not what it is about. I suggest just overlook the nudity, but look at the plot and the story. And not the nudity parts.
What nudity? There were only a few scenes where you see Pelle nude and then one scene of this lady, but it was a long shot with camera. I love this movie and I watch it again tonight.
I live in Sweden. We saw this movie today in my Swedish language class. I have to admit, I got tired of seeing Pelle's twelve year old little willy after a while. I found it unnecessary, actually.
