L.A. To Vegas in just a few minutes?

The kid steals a car, knows how to drive it with no trouble, somehow knows how to get to the airport, gets on a plane, (buys a ticket, how?) Gets to Vegas, gets in a cab, (pays for it how?), and gets to the wrestling match at the Hilton in what seems like a total of 30 minutes in real time?

As a partial answer to some of the problems, the kid did have a rich grandfather and might possibly have had a lot of money in his wallet. If he did have money, he could have bought an airplane ticket and a cab ride.

I think just a few hundred dollars would have been enough, so I can imagine he could have been given a few hundred dollars for Christmas or his birthday and not had a chance to spend it at his military school.

I think that it is kind of amusing that David Mendenhall also portrayed a kid who made a journey to be at a sporting event and support the new father figure in his life in They still Call Me Bruce, another 1987 movie.

The movie showed him digging up stuff in his mother’s room to find the dad’s letters. So he may have found $$$
