Does anybody else love this movie?

I love this movie! I thought Jon was perfect in it. Any other 'Hiding Out' lovers out there?

I also love this movie. I just think Jon Cryer is so cute in this movie and in Pretty in Pink. It is just a fun movie. I remember going to see it at the theater when it was released.

I liked the movie. Watched it time and time again on HBO around 1989. As far as weird, (him being 30 and her in high school, probably 18) he was born in 1965, movie came out in 87. That puts him at 22 when the movie came out. I know, his character was older than that (maybe) but he really wasn't very old. Deep inside we all sensed that, and that's why it didn't seem weird.

If you'll watch the movely closely, I'm pretty sure he's 29. He says, "I'm almost 30..."

Indeed i do

I think I watched this and Morgan Stewart's Coming Home a million times in the 80's. I think this movie is really slept on.

My teacher (He teachs Theater) was in this movie. His name is Steve Small. I just thougtht that was cool.

I just saw it again for the first time in a long time, and Jon Cryer is so cute in it! First he looks like Paul McCartney circa "Let it Be", then he shaves off the beard and all of the sudden is Duckie again!

And this one ends the right way, unlike "Pretty in Pink", where the producers reshot the end so Molly Ringwald would end up with the rich preppy jerk instead of Duckie!

Great movie.
This isn't just another "high School" movie.
I also loved it.

I have wathced this moving soooo many times with my little brother!!! I left home for college in August 1990 and my brother and I probably watched this movie 15 times just that summer. I am now 35 and he is 32 and we still rent it and watch it whenever we get together. He lives in Chicago and I live in South Carolina. To this day, if I call and leave a message on his voice mail for him to call me, he calls right back and asks, "What's all the hubbub, bub?" If you've seen the movie even twice, you'll know where that line is from. The movie is great, super funny, and has provided me with so many great times with my little brother. I LOVE IT!!!

That's a great story. I wish my sister and I obsessed over the same things. Sadly, we don't.

Finally saw this movie for the first time last weekend...I liked it too. I think it was Jon Cryer's first "starring" role (Name alone above the title)but I guess the general public wasn't impressed because I dopn't think he had anymore "Name alone aboe the title" films after this one.

reply

Yep. This is one of my favorites, too. There were a number of these unheralded 80's movies that I love. The Manhattan Project, My Bodyguard, Hiding Out, Three O'Clock High, etc.
