Nouri trashed on the commentary by director?
I've heard the director had nothing nice to say about him on the commentary, can anyone whose heard it mention some of the things he said?

It's been a while since I've listened to the commentary, but if I recall Jack Sholder did say that Nouri was difficult to work with and they didn't get along very well. Guess he was something of a prima donna.
shareHe felt that Nouri overexaggerated on some stuff but still felt that he's a great actor. The biggest example of the problems they had was when Beck & Gallagher went back to the record store and Gallagher was walking away from Beck when he needed to start from the end of the block and work his way back and Beck was following him asking questions. According to the commentary, Nouri felt that this made his character look weak and had problems with it.
shareI believe he said something along the lines of how he thought Nouri was really talented and he couldn't understand why nobody seemed to be using him in their films. After a while working with him the director said he thought he might know the reason... snarky!
You should hear this guy tear up some of the bit players at the hospital- a doctor and a nurse. Ouch!
"You're forgetting one thing- I just started using laser cats again!"
Funny, I came hear to see if anyone had mentioned this commentary. As a fan of commentaries, I really enjoyed it. He's honest and tells a lot about production, story, and acting. It's important to note that even though he criticizes Nouri a couple times, he also pays him some nice compliments. Even admitting towards the end that a line that was in the original release is not in the DVD because it was inappropriate. Nouri had told him this and he disagreed at the time. It's hilarious when he trashes the black doctor and nurse. They were bad actors, worthy of MST3K!
I'd also have to point out that, according to IMDb, Sholder hasn't worked since 2005 while Nouri has worked steadily every year for 26 years since the Hidden came out.
It is a good commentary track.
shareJack Sholder is almost too honest.
shareThe short scene with the black doctor and white nurse is between 13:30-14:30. I didn't notice anything unusual about their acting one way or another. Maybe there's a reason why Sholder hasn't worked in the industry since 2005.
shareYep...one of the most honest commentaries I have heard. He lets those actors in the hospital really have it, but acknowledges that it's one of the problems of low budget filmmaking.
