What the hell?

No posts for this film? I got it with the Psycho Killer Triple Feature from Shriek Show, along with House on the Edge of the Park and Beyond the Darkness. Of course it is the worst out of the three, but come on... it has some great sleaze. Serena Grandi is amazing.

Last film: Shinjuku Triad Society 7/10

I got it in that pack too. House and Beyond were great pieces of Euro sleaze. I've only seen a small portion of this so far- just up to the bee murder. Yeah, I think it must be the bee murder cos someone has just walked in in bee keeping gear haha. It seems pretty good so far.

I agree, definitely worth watching, albeit it's pretty ordinary giallo. I got the same Triple Feature, and this was the 1st film I watched so good to know there's better stuff to come. (Though I thing I have seen HotEotP before many years ago.) Serena Grandi is always amazing, and I really liked the music diring the ending credits.

As a giallo, it was passable, for boobies, I give it an A+. Serena Grandi was smokin'.

Serena Grandi is really gorgeous in this.

The film has that weird aspect where we see (from the killer's POV) the victims with grotesque looking heads (the nasty eye face, a bee head, etc), but this is abandoned and the movie doesn't really go into the psychology of the killer at all. It's a fun stylistic touch in those early kills, but it would have been nice to think it through better and do more with it.

Most important box ticked!

It's a fantastic taster course towards giallo like Argento's Profondo Rosso, etc. It's for viewers who don't fully understand the concept of giallo. Yet!

"Wow, entertainers AND dancing girls? Is there a buffet as well?"

Only worthwhile for Serena Grandi. She was not especially well-photographed. And wasn't nude enough. Another reason not to bother with giallos made after 1985.

Not the best film, but ya got to admit that foot chase out the house to the road where that dude gets run over was pretty damn good. Also that wheelchair guy really came through in the end!

And did I miss something, or is this the first time in history that George Eastman’s character didn’t die in a movie?

reply

Might be. He just sorta disappears in this after calling Gioia and lying about not being in Rome. Presumably with some other woman, but we don't even see that. We just see the Coliseum in the background as he's telling her he won't be in town for a few days.
