Yes! It´s called Murray in Videoland or something. To me this movie is much more funny sketches. It´s surrealistic. Dali would have loved it.

Hey people!

I saw this movie for the first time last week, and I had quite a few laughs.
My favorite sketch would probably have to be "Video Date", the one with Marc McClure where he rents a video tape made especially for him. Heh heh heh, hilarious, I won't spoil anything, but the thing with the cops at the end is awesome!

My vote is for the 100th drugstore Customer who buys a condom skit...I fell over laughing at that one...too funny

A close runner up is "Bullsh*t or NOT"...the Loch Ness Monster--really Jack The Ripper...is it bullsh*t, or NOT? (a spoof on "Rippley's Believe it or Not")

I have to agree. The memory of David Alan Grier in a that bizarre ruffled shirt with a sh*it-eating grin, singing "down and funky" songs like "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog (Joy to the World)" still tickles me. He made Johnny Mathis look like Sid Vicious. And how he ducks from one side of the candelabra on the piano to the other to keep his face on camera as he sings the Carpenters' "Close to You."

LOL, and "Chim-Chiminee" too. Too funny.

Definitely my favourite is Don "No Soul" Simmons.

And I gotta say that although Arsenio's career nosedived after his talk show, his bit in this movie was awesome.

When I was younger my favorite was the video date segment because, well, the boobies. Now I think Don SImmons is the funniest. David Alan Grier is great.

When I was a kid, I was recording this movie. My parents came in on the part with the Pethouse Pet and made me turn it off. When they left, I quickly resumed. So I had a VHS tape with 5 min cut out. Now I have it on DVD.

Back in the day my favorite part was the "Titan King" and "Video Date." But now I enjoy the "Background check."

I'm gonna try to get the River Oaks Theater to do a midnight showing of this movie here in Houston

The first sketch "Mondo Condo" when Arsenio Hall gets frustrated with the phone call after all that has happened to him and by the end he responds to the other person on line by saying "what? ain't no *beep* Thelma here!" Hilarious!

My cousin, who did the music on this film and appears in the Silly Pate sketch (he eats Doonesbury), explained to me the idea behind this sketch, which I didn't get. It was a takeoff on silent films where terrible things happen to some poor schmo.

Just watched the film for the first time ever last weekend. The first sketch with Arsenio Hall is so explosively funny, the rest of the film just never quite measures up to it. But runners up are Blacks Without Soul and Critics Corner. The Penthouse Pet one is so in-your-face politically incorrect I was chuckling, seeing her naked in a pew for a church service.
The funeral roast fell flat for the most part, and I got little amusement out of the Amazon Women On The Moon story itself.

were the best and most quotable segments for me, but the others were quite funny too. I loved the Siskel-Ebert cricits corner, Rosanna Arquette looked her best in Background Check, and Henry Silva is always great.

The Pethouse Video is something we'll never see in today's PC Hollywood. In fact the whole movie should be a textbook lesson for makers of today's so-called parodies.

Never be complete.

Don "No Soul" Simmons is something I still quote. "Blame it on the Bossa Nova, and it's magic spell. . ." And the way he sang "Jer-a-mi-ah was a bull frog." very staccato and his grin . . . classic. I've been a David Alan Grier fan since!

I also like the actual "Amazon women on the moon" segment with the cheesy 50's era sci fi.

Griffin Dunne was also funny as the doctor.

I also love Son of the Invisible Man

and "Don't touch me there - I'm invisible!"

Blacks without Soul is great
I also love Hairlooming.

And the voice they use for the Pethouse Video is just so ridiculous - cracks me up. Note - check the old man holding the collection tray when she's naked at church making her donation - he keeps leaning forward to check her out!

I guess I'm a sick, twisted individual, but I blame Hollywood for my current state. "Roast Your Loved One" is my favorite sketch and I find it difficult to attend funerals without it jumping into my head. Definitely not the place for a silly, giggle-fit outburst.

Thing is, the albums he does are only spoofs (obviously), but I'd buy them if they were real. Some good tracks he sings.

My friend and I agree that we would want a roast at our funeral made up of friends and family. A funeral is supposed to be a time of rememberance and reflecting; what a way to go to let people get in the last word(s). I loved that concept of a skit and the comedians were priceless.

Mondo Condo

When Arsenio gets whacked in the head with the VCR tape. We sat and pressed <Rewind><Play> over and over and over watching that part. And his final answering of the telephone is one of the best. I can't believe its been almost 20 years since I first saw this show...
