The 'crook fortress' attack makes no sense
First they say that they can't go to the cops, because the crooks 'own the cops', right?
Yet, when the gangsters attack, or 'cause a diversion', the crooks just use their own henchmen to 'get rid of them'. As if it's nothing!
Regardless of the story, the crooks having henchmen and the gangsters being so goofy, this essentially IS a 'home invasion', and NO ONE would take that lightly! Ask any Texan..
So my question is; WHY do the rich crooks not call the cops?
Consider some facts told/shown by this movie:
01) The crooks OWN the cops. Why not call them?
02) A home invasion is in progress - for all the crooks know, the invaders could be a dangerous gang of some kind, they don't know!
Why rely on their own henchmen exclusively? Just because you are righ enough to HAVE henchmen, that's not how the law and law enforcement work; the cops are not going to just ASSUME rich people can handle their own home invasions, the cops' duty is to enforce the law regardless, and it's THEIR JOB to prevent the home invasion or at least arrest the suspects and so on.
(I know that in the modern world, what once was called 'peace officers', is now effectively 'policy enforcers', so the 'police' does not necessarily have an actual duty to protect and serve anyone except corporate shareholders and their own, petty egos, but I am going by the idealized movie-universe version of cops)
The whole thing makes no sense.. a rich man, crook or not (probably mostly crooks anyway, it's hard to get wealthy legitimately in this corrupt world, except by inheritance, which makes you a spoiled brat, which is basically a form of crook anyway..), would IMMEDIATELY call the cops, because they are the most 'entitled' people in the world (besides fema-fascist and otherwise 'woke' women), they would EXPECT the cops to come to their aid and serve them and all that.
It would be an OUTRAGE if they had to rely on their own henchman when a home invasion and destruction of property, breaking and entering is IN PROGRESS. I mean, come on, hello? If you were wealthy, would you just think 'naah, not gonna call the cops, risking the safety of my own henchman is fine, it's all I need'?
This is a humble attitude.. I don't care how 'criminal' you are, especially if you OWN the cops, you are definitely call them if you are wealthy. Wealthy criminals always get away with a slap on the wrist or even without that. Besides, they can bribe cops (sadly, police corruption is real, because crooks are rich and police salaries are small) and all that.
There's no druglord so scared of being caught that they would not call the cops if their palace is invaded. This movie makes no sense.
