Why couldn't they just use the music from the TV series?

The weakest part of this film is the music which is such a shame because it was such a strong point of the TV series. All the epic battle scenes and deaths are totally drained of their drama as soon as "You've-got-the-touch..." comes on.
I'd love to see this film re-edited with all the Soundtrack songs replaced with the incidental music from the show.
Yes I understand why it was done. A new, top 40 style soundtrack was easier to market as a soundtrack album for people to buy but Jesus... it was so awful.

..Vince Dicola is a genius, his work on Transformers the movie 1986 is powerful and moving, and just kicks butt!.. AND his famous classic "training Montange" on Rocky IV sountrack is brilliant. 80's movie soundtracks rule.

..as for the songs, Stan Bush's "dare" and "the touch" are powerful and so memorable stil today. Lion is equally as awesome.
