Did Ace ever get his revenge?
Ace was more than just a bully; he was a sociopath who was perfectly willing to slash a kid's throat in order to claim a reward. Didn't the boys fear he would seek revenge - in a big way - and did he ever do it?

shareIn the book it said that he did. He and his gang beat the crap out of them a short time later.
shareYes.
In the book, it mentioned Gordy was walking out of a store from what I remember. Ace was waiting outside and said something like 'cheap dime store hood, eh?' Gordy took off running and Ace chased him down and caught him.
Beat his ass, broke his nose and 2 fingers.
Yeah, read the book again last night and I am happy they didn't put this in the movie. Man they got it hard.
And also chris got his arm broke in two places by his brother, Vern attacked with a poker by his brother and Teddy jumped by the other guys and beat up.
omg ! All of that happened in the book ? I almost wish I hadn't read this. It puts such a darkness on the whole thing.
sharethis is unrealistic. the film set up that ace is psychopath. he would have put all four boys on life supports in hospital.
gordy should have shot ace and his pussy gang and claim self defence.
In the movie, the director do the right thing by not showing us this hard scene.
But novel wise it's was the most logical move for Ace character to gets revenge. In real life someone like him don't just leave it alone if someone hurt his ego and pride. Secondly, in a small town it's harder for them to avoid Ace and his friends. In fact, given Ace's sociopathic nature, it could have ended worse.
what a downer!!
i would have preferred if boys stayed vigilante and been on look out for ace merrils at all time.
I remember they chased Teddy to some junkyard - When they saw that he was helplessly trying to fight back, they left him alone and stopped the beatings.
shareAce Merrill also makes an appearance in Stephen King's book Needful Things where he again causes trouble and gets into all sorts of problems. Cause he's a bully and a criminal.
shareI was just going to post this. you'd think the kids would have called the cops on them and/or shot Ace.

Having not read the novella, I assumed he wound up in prison for life… after stabbing a lawyer in the throat in a fast food joint.
shareYes, Ace did get even, but also, and I can't recall if this is in The Body novella or not, Ace is revisited and it is revealed he has become a broken-down drunk with little recall of much at all.
