As cheesy and unbelievable as this movie is...
...it's still an utterly scientific and Oscar-worthy tour de force compared to Armageddon.

sharei love this movie and i got it.
OMG are you out of your mind!!! Armageddon as unreal as it is, is leaps and bounds better than this movie. Armageddon gets past the unreal aspects with its amazing cast. How can you not love Steve Bushemi (spelling) in this movie, his lines alone make the film.
shareoh god, this guy is one of those, always way to serious types, shut up
shareArmageddon? That may set the bar way too low
sharezOMG, how dare you besmirch the name of Space Camp! Its makers clearly went through great pains to make this film not only poignant and human but as scientifically accurate as possible!
shareSeriously, "Armageddon" is so stupid it makes me want to poke a pencil in my ear to kill the part of my brain that would remember or analyze how stupid it is.
Poke! Poke! Poke!
At least children's stories - from Little Red Riding Hood onwards - have a well established tradition of fantasy and hyperbole in telling its tales and elevating its young heroes.
I am more easily able to accept a sentient loving best friend robot like Jinx than asteroids that amazingly only hit significant buildings and landmarks on the surface of the earth, entrusting the salvation of the planet to a bunch of oil drilling losers, and the fact that somehow one guy dying to save THE ENTIRE FREAKING PLANET is worth anybody crying or saluting over as if it were a big deal. (And, uh, doesn't that essentially make Bruce Willis into Jesus? That's not at all troubling?)
I have much less trouble accepting that space camp kids get rocketed into space and have to use their lessons and teamwork in order not to die.
OMG! You are sooooo funny! I really enjoyed what you wrote and it made me laugh out loud. SpaceCamp is one of my favorite childhood movies and I have never bothered to buy Armageddon on DVD. I remember that scene with Bruce Willis when he is going down and he gets saluted. It made me sick. I loved the poke! poke! part.
Don't steal, the government doesn't like competition.
i agree!!!
armageddon sucks!

lol i have to say armageddon is more "realistic" aka believable than space camp...low mark, but its more fun to watch. space camp is only fun to watch to laugh at the awful 80s music fashion, and laughable acting...in a so bad its almost good kind of way.
the 10 million box office is well known, but its budget is always n/a:P so i wonder how much they lost on the stinker?

The soundtrack of SpaceCamp was composed by John Willimas. That simple fact makes it better than Armageddon.
And, besides that, Willie Scott is in it... What more could you ask for? lol
tour-du-force
far too many surfaces for most
