End

The decisions made by Graham and Crawford after they realize that the killer's "seen these films" does not make sense at all.

They are aware of the fact that the tooth fairy kills his victims at their residence on a full moon, i.e. that very night.

Thus, they should be expecting him to be at the next victim's house on that night -- not at his own. They luck out because it just happens that Dollarhyde decides to kill the blind girl in his own place instead of going after his next "project" (the film he watches when she's over at his place).

By this rationale, shouldn't FBI maybe sending people to raid his workplace to see what films he has worked on in attempts to locate the next victim family house (where he should be, according to them)?

There is an extra scene at the end which shows Will Graham visiting the family who would have been next. This scene is missing from most cuts of the film.

But you said it, they got lucky that his relationship with Reba took the turn it did.
